Reflecting on a remarkable year: TogetherCrew’s milestones in 2023

As we bid goodbye to 2023, the TogetherCrew team looks back fondly at the progress we made and the support we received from the Web3 fraternity. We are incredibly grateful for the journey we’ve had, and invite our friends to join us in celebrating the wins and milestones of the past year. In this article we are excited to share a roundup of TogetherCrew in 2023
From a pilot, to 50+communities: At the start of the year, we were a small yet determined group armed with a whitepaper and a single pilot with Aragon DAO. In the first half of the year, we tirelessly worked to create bespoke reports, expertly crafted by our team of data and community experts. The encouraging feedback from these early users reaffirmed our path and provided the confidence to automate the analytics and reporting that we were undertaking. In August, we proudly unveiled our self-serve platform, a quick and simple to use tool, which empowers community builders to access a wide range of insights about their community.
As 2023 comes to an end, our analytics has been deployed by over 50 communities, including renowned community builders such as Aave, Optimism, Celo, Ceramic, Coordinape, Pokt network, Singularity Net and many more.
Continuing to innovate: Innovation is at the heart of TogetherCrew’s philosophy, and as we were building the analytics platform, we continued to push our thinking. This led us to adding two exciting layers to our offering — automated actions and an AI bot.
In October, we embarked on a pilot program with three communities, focusing on automated messaging to members. Ingesting data from our analytics, our messaging bot would send DMs to members whenever there was a change in their activity patterns. The initial results of the pilot have been encouraging, with the communities showing a uptick in member retention.
And that’s not all. In November, we received a grant from Singularity Net, which will fund the early development of our AI bot — HiveMind. This powerful bot offers a holistic community and knowledge management solution. HiveMind will have the ability tackle a broad range of complex questions. And it will continually tap into information from all the platforms a community uses, from Google Docs to Discord to Discourse and beyond. So, whatever a community teams need — onboarding, member support, knowledge management, or team updates — HiveMind will have them covered.
An early funding win: Early in 2023, we were thrilled to be among the 12 startups selected by Techstars Web3 accelerator, from a staggering 750 applicants. This opportunity has allowed us to tap into Techstars’ knowledge base, networks and also get a stellar panel of mentors. The journey with Techstars has been very enriching for the TogetherCrew team.
Giving back to the community: The Web3 community has offered us a lot of support, and we place great importance in giving back. Speaking about community health at several events was a priority for our team, including at MetaFest and Regens Unite Berlin. During the year, we also noticed that there was a lack of knowledge publicly available around community building, this inspired us to launch a Twitter Spaces series in October. In this series, we have invited experts from Near, Safe, Optimism, and Community Inc to share their tips, tricks, and perspectives with those interested in community building.
Living the Web3 philosophy: Transparency and decentralization are important operating philosophies of TogetherCrew. We proudly operate as a DAO, with an open membership for anyone who wants to join and build with us. And as our venture has grown more complex, with multiple workstreams, we started a monthly community call, to ensure continued transparency and encourage community participation. Our inaugural community call took place in December 2023, and we are eagerly looking forward to many more moments like this.
As we embark on 2024, our team is buzzing with excitement, and remains passionately driven by our vision of building tools for “community powered growth”. We have numerous workstreams underway, including a fresh new look for our Dashboard, the development of more automations and the upcoming launch of our HiveMind AI bot.
