A Longer Road than Planned

We, Borgy and Pess, have been on the road for two days now. We are driving towards the setting sun, and the light is so bright that it hurts our eyes. We have to keep squinting to see the road ahead. Pess is driving, Borgy is in the passenger seat writing this in the hopes that someone will find it and know what happened to us.

We were on our way to Borgy’s parents’ house for Thanksgiving. They live in a small town in the middle of nowhere, and we were looking forward to a quiet holiday away from the city. But then, yesterday, something happened.

We were driving down a long, straight stretch of road, and Borgy suddenly slammed on the brakes. I nearly hit my head on the seat in front of me.

“What the hell, man?” Pess yelled.

“Did you see that?” Borgy asked, his voice shaking.

“See what?”

“There was something in the road.”

We got out of the car to look, but there was nothing there. No animal, no person, nothing.

“Are you sure you saw something?” Pess asked.

“I’m positive,” Borgy said. “It was big and dark and it ran right in front of the car.”

We got back in the car and continued on our way. But then, a few minutes later, it happened again. Borgy slammed on the brakes and we all got out to look, but there was nothing there.

“This is getting weird,” Pess said.

“Yeah, no shit,” Borgy said. “Something is definitely out there.”

We got back in the car and drove on, but we didn’t get far before it happened again. And again. And again. We must have stopped dozens of times, but we never saw anything.

It’s getting dark now, and we’re getting tired. We’re going to keep driving for a while longer, but we’re not sure how much longer we can keep this up.

We’ll update this as best we can. Hopefully someone will find it.

Update:

We’re still on the road, and it’s getting dark. We’ve been stopping every few minutes, but we haven’t seen anything. Pess is getting tired, so Borgy’s driving now. We’re both on edge, and we’re jumpy at every little noise.

We’re not sure what to do. We can’t keep driving forever, but we’re not sure if it’s safe to stop. We’ll have to make a decision soon.

Update:

We’ve decided to stop for the night. We’re both exhausted, and we can’t keep going. We’re in the middle of nowhere, and there’s no sign of anything around us. We’re not sure if it’s safe, but we can’t keep driving.

We’re setting up camp now. We’re going to take turns keeping watch.

Update:

We start to question if there’s anything out there or if one of us is just going crazy. We’ve stopped dozens of times, but we haven’t seen anything which makes us feel like we’re losing our minds.

Borgy:

I’m starting to think that Pess is right, and I’m just seeing things. I don’t know what’s out there, but whatever it is, it’s playing with us.

Pess:

I’m not sure what’s going on, but I’m starting to think that Borgy is right. I’m seeing things that aren’t there. We need to get out of here.
