Token Valley Interview Series — Interview with Mose Schrute from harvest.finance

Token Valley questions for Mose Schrute from https://harvest.finance/

Harvest.Finance Project Logo

#1 Can you briefly introduce your project?

Harvest.finance allows people to deposit their crypto assets, and invests them in a transparent manner in DeFi opportunities that currently generate income. Harvest.finance pools the deposits from all the farmers and deposits them on their behalf through a system of smart contracts, which saves gas to the farmers. It also allows the farmers to pay less attention to the DeFi news, because Harvest.finance reacts and responds on their behalf. All the profits from DeFi are liquidated and returned to the farmers. We call the Bread For The People!

#2 What’s the current status of the project and the timeline moving forward?

The project is up and running and well alive. The team releases updates to the platform on a weekly schedule, or even more often. They were able to respond to some newly released DeFi products within hours after inception, letting the entire community of farmers immediately benefit.

#3 Can you tell us a bit about token economics?

Harvest is running through a token called FARM (0xa0246c9032bC3A600820415aE600c6388619A14D). The holders and stakers of FARM receive 30% of yield from all farming strategies.

The FARM token is an ERC20 token with a supply capped at 690420 tokens. The tokens are being minted and released weekly on Tuesdays according to a published schedule, and they are distributed to Harverst’s farmers and stakers.

#4 Which chain(s) are you planning to use moving forward?

Harvest.finance is currently present on Ethereum, and will stay on Ethereum in the near future, because it has the richest supply of DeFi projects.

#5 Where do you see your project 5 years from now?

On-chain.

Their Yield Farming UX

#6 What do you see as the biggest bottleneck for adoption in crypto right now?

The user experience is still pretty poor. Users have to download browser plugins or applications, which are clunky and slow. Executing a sequence of several transactions takes quite time. There are long hexadecimal strings flying around, and only technical people really know what they mean. If a regular person with a standard technical aptitude requires assistance and has questions during an onboarding process, the user experience is just not good enough.

#7 Where can people learn more about you and your project?

Harvest.finance is the website. The github with all the code resides on https://github.com/harvest-finance/harvest.

Harvest’s community Discord server is very active and can be joined via https://discord.gg/R5SeTVR.
