Billionaire’s ex wife set off for Blockchain. Will a new taxi service work out?
The former wife of billionaire Arkady Rotenberg launches a blockchain taxi: Natalia Rotenberg founded a project named International Taxi Company. Users will be able to set the cost of the trip themselves and choose the class of the car, drivers will either agree or decline the request. It is assumed that the company will offer services in different price segments.
The information that Natalia Rotenberg decided to launch a blockchain project appeared in several Telegram channels, however she is not listed in the “Team” section as the founder on the company website. The only mention of her was in a Whitepaper, a document that described the essence of the project, but it was soon removed from the site. Now Natalia Rotenberg is associated with International Taxi Company by a few photos from the conferences.
The company’s website and lack of a detailed description of the project probably means that this is a fraud, believes Tokenbox CEO Pavel Salas: “If we base only on information that is on the website, then this project looks closer to the idea that people want to raise a certain amount of money. The most important thing is that there is no real information on the website, from which it is possible to understand what exactly they will do, what problems they want to solve, what the kind of token it will be, and if it will carry any sense”.
Now the company of Natalia Rotenberg is trying to raise money through an ICO. Thus, they are expecting to raise about $80 million. The commercial launch is scheduled for the beginning of the next year. Blockchain taxi is said to appear in Moscow, Baku, Minsk, Tbilisi and Yerevan.
The idea of a Blockchain taxi has a very vague future. Uber was going to launch a similar project, but after calculations the company came to the conclusion that the costs will not be payed off.
Natalia Rotenberg was not available for comments recently.
