Tokenbox at SPIEF 2018
This week thousands of economists and business leaders along with government officials and international business community members will gather in St. Petersburg, Russian cultural capital and a home for the unique event, annual International Economic Forum.
Apart from the discussion of the digital economy development in many areas, including education and, for example, a digitalization of energy, one of the panel discussions will focus on a recent history of blockchain and its impact on government and business. The technology of blockchain is finally recognised as a sensation in Russia and the world. According to the SPIEF programme, it can potentially radically change business processes and public administration. “How can we best differentiate where application of blockchain technology is simply paying deference to a fad, and where it is a vital necessity? What measures can the state use to streamline the use of the technology? Where and how are successful projects being implemented in business and public administration, and how can they be scaled?” — these topics and even more will be discussed during the panel hosted by Max Hauser, partner and managing director for The Boston Consulting Group. The panel lists such names as Olga Skorobogatova, first deputy governor at Bank of Russia; Robert Contri, financial services industry leader, Deloitte Global and member of the board of directors at Deloitte US; Vladimir Demin, chairman of the board at Blockchain Competence Center and adviser to the Chairman of the Board for Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank); Vladislav Martynov, member of the Supervisory Board at Ethereum Foundation; Shannon Poulin, vice president, director for Implementing New Technologies in Global Markets for Intel Corporation and Yury Pripachkin, president of Russian Association of Cryptocurrency and Blockchain (RACIB).
