German Innovation Challenge in Tokyo

The German Innovation Challenge (GIC) was held in Tokyo on June 26, 2018. The challenge showcased promising high-tech startups selected by major ecosystem builders and accelerators from across Japan. Companies who presented showcased science and manufacturing technologies that have potential to disrupt major industries and existing technologies. This challenge was sponsored by the German Chamber of Commerce, and the winner will be flown to Germany for a chance to present on the stage of the Falling Walls Venture competition in Berlin.

Hacarus Inc.

Hacarus Inc. is a Kyoto based startup and healthcare company. Its non-deep learning AI service, HACARUS-X, can work with very small data sets and yields results understandable by humans.

4D Sensor Inc.

4D Sensor Inc. is a university startup from Wakayama university creating the world’s fastest 3D scanner.

MediGear International Corp.

With the use of nanotechnology, MediGear International Corp. has developed a new cancer-starvation therapy. This innovation is able to target, isolate and neutralize tumors without the use of potentially harmful drugs.

ACSL Ltd.

ACSL Ltd. is a leading industrial drone OEM in Japan that develops platform drone systems tailored for delivery, aerial survey, disaster reconnaissance, and inspections.

C-INK Ltd.

C-INK Co., Ltd. manufactures a special ultra-high quality metal “nano-ink” used especially for “printed electronics”.

ListenField Co., Ltd

The advanced API ecosystem developed by ListenField Co.Ltd. integrates diverse data, advanced analytical models and machine learning techniques, in order to give insight into crop production.

EditForce Inc.

The technology developed by EditForce Inc. for manipulating nucleic acids (DNA/RNA) has the potential to contribute to drug development (medical) in unmet areas.
