Join the FINSUM Startup Competition

FINSUM is Japan’s largest and most prestigious FinTech conference organized by Nikkei and the Financial Services Agency (FSA) of Japan. Held annually since 2016, this year’s event, scheduled for September 3 to 6, marks the fourth iteration of the summit. 2018 saw more than 12,000 attendees, 200+ speakers from over 20 countries hosting 120 sessions, as well as 60+ startups and 750+ companies as participants.

FINSUM will again host a pitch competition for Japanese and international start-ups under the title FINSUM NEXT. The contest is mainly geared towards early stage start-ups, but companies at a more advanced stage with no presence in Japan yet are also welcome to apply.

The winners will have the opportunity to engage in direct discussions with the event sponsors and receive some prize money. Past winners include Wirex (UK), Tradle (UK/US), Onfido (UK). The audience will comprise of investors, Japanese financial institutions and IT vendors (looking for collaboration opportunities but also possibly leading to investment).
