Moomoo Japan has launched its online brokerage business on September 19. Japanese investors are now able to trade approximately 7,000 US stocks and ETFs on the moomoo platform, which represents the highest level of tradable U.S. shares in the Japanese industry, according to the firm. moomoo also starts with the lowest commission rates for U.S. stocks in the industry. As competition intensifies through a number of new entrants this year, SBI Securities and Rakuten Securities have announced zero fee trading for domestic stocks as of early October, but this does not apply (yet) for overseas trading.

Out of the full trading universe, Moomoo will soon make available 301 selected US stocks and ETFs for 24 hours trading.

Moomoo made its debut in Japan in October 2022, introducing its all-in-one app that offers market information, education tools and a community of global peers to Japanese investors. Moomoo Japan holds qualifications for conducting Type-I Financial Instruments Business, Type-II Financial Instruments Business, Investment Management Business, and Investment Advisory and Agency Business.

Moomoo nurtures a culture of continuous learning through its inclusive online Moo Community and complimentary investment education courses, catering to the needs of investors at every level of investment experience. In collaboration with its sister brand, moomoo cultivates an interactive online investing community that unites over 20 million investors from all over the globe. Within the Moo Community, investors can connect with like-minded peers, share experiences and stories, and potentially enhance their trading skills through free online courses and interactive events.

By the end of the second quarter, Moomoo observed a 330% surge in community engagement in Japan compared to the previous quarter, and the online investing curriculum experienced a 142% sequential increase in click rates.
