MUFG Innovation Partners (MUIP), a corporate venture capital fund and a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), has recently invested in Sellers Funding Corp. (SellersFi) through MUFG Innovation Partners №2 Investment Partnership.

SellersFi is a U.S. startup focusing on credit and banking solutions specifically for global e-commerce sellers under the concept of “Accelerating E-commerce Success.”

Founded in 2017, SellersFi is headquartered in the United States and provides credit solutions and a banking platform for e-commerce merchants selling on digital marketplaces. SellersFi’s platform is directly connected to more than 10 marketplaces such as Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, and eBay via deep API integration, allowing them to extract a variety of real-time seller data types, including real-time sales data, market share, rankings, and number of reviews. By utilizing data points that are unique to the e-commerce business and leveraging its proprietary underwriting algorithm to determine sellers’ credit, SellersFi is able to quickly provide an optimal lending service for e-commerce sellers that need growth capital.

As the e-commerce sector is expected to continue growing in Japan and Southeast Asia, MUIP looks explore the possibilities of business development in Asia Pacific collaboration with SellersFi.
