TIS, a member of the TIS INTEC Group, has started a collaboration with Umi Labs Japan from March 2024, aiming for social implementation by integrating web2 and web3 technologies utilizing zero-knowledge proofs, decentralized ID/VC/VP, and OAuth on the Sui Network.

In this collaboration, TIS will be responsible for planning, design, and production, while Umi Labs Japan will take charge of technology research and development, with the goal of creating new markets through the integration of web2 and web3 technologies. By leveraging their respective strengths, the two companies will jointly promote the creation of new value.

Background

With changes in consumer trends and diversification of values, the utilization of web3 and NFTs is attracting attention as a new means for businesses and customers to co-create business value. However, for those considering the use of web3 and NFTs, there have been challenges in terms of user experience, such as the hurdle of establishing NFT issuance and distribution schemes, the need for users to install non-custodial wallets and manage their own private keys.

To address this, TIS has collaborated with Umi Labs Japan, which possesses zero-knowledge proof technology, to jointly plan and develop a solution that enables easier issuance of POAPs through zkLogin, which allows users to log in to the Sui Network with only a Google account, without the need for pre-installing a non-custodial wallet. This has made it easier for corporate staff to manage POAP issuance, and users can now quickly issue and obtain POAPs without the need to install wallets or smartphone apps.

Collaboration Proof of Concept

TIS and Umi Labs Japan conducted a demonstration of POAP issuance on the Sui Network as part of this collaboration.

In the demonstration, corporate staff were able to easily create POAP issuance URLs/QR codes without requiring programming knowledge, and participants could simply scan the QR code with their smartphones and log in with their Google accounts to seamlessly and quickly issue and obtain POAPs. Additionally, personal information collection, app installation, and non-custodial wallet and private key management were unnecessary, resolving the challenges faced in web3. These efforts demonstrated the convenience and seamlessness of the POAP issuance process utilizing the Sui Network.

This enables companies to issue POAPs or limited NFTs to event participants, enhancing the value of their experience. Moreover, beyond simply issuing POAPs or NFTs, companies can analyze past issuance records and utilize the information in various scenarios, such as engaging with participants or developing new products.

Future Plans

Based on this zero-knowledge proof technology solution, TIS and Umi Labs Japan will strive for social implementation through the integration of web2 and web3 technologies, aiming to further improve user experience and create new use cases.

TIS aims to realize use cases in a low-cost and speedy manner by utilizing web3. In addition to distributing POAPs and NFTs, TIS has also begun research on data analysis of blockchain data on the Sui Network to address management challenges. Through these efforts, TIS will contribute to enhancing the convenience for users and businesses in areas such as marketing utilization of the new markets created by web3.

Moving forward, TIS will continue to collaborate with web3 partners possessing intellectual property and technology know-how, providing comprehensive support from the planning stage for the utilization of advanced technologies to solve corporate management challenges.
