Paris, FRANCE, [11/01/2019] — TokyWoky, the start-up specialized in activating customer communities, will be featured at the Microsoft Partner Booth during NRF 2019: Retail’s Big Show amongst other companies looking to enable Intelligent Retail.

TokyWoky will present the work they have been doing with Michaels, the largest US arts & crafts retailer, on building and activating their customer community with a solution integrating Microsoft Azure AI.

Tomorrow’s leading retailers and brands will be community-led. If brands can increasingly less differentiate themselves from bigger players through pricing and delivery, they can stand out by building a strong brand customers want to engage with.

Michaels is a passion-driven company and, with a focus on building the best customer experience through innovative solutions, has partnered with TokyWoky for a year now. The two companies are working hand in hand to identify Michaels customer community and leverage their enthusiasm to answer other shopper’s questions and create helpful content.

Michaels and TokyWoky are working hand in hand on buliding a digital community of makers.

“As the leader in arts and crafts, we are leveraging our size and scale to build stronger digital communities for makers of all experience levels,” said Steve Carlotti, Executive Vice President — Marketing. “Through our successful TokyWoky partnership, we have created strong customer engagement by connecting makers to other more experienced makers on michaels.com to answer questions, provide inspiration and make creativity happen.”

TokyWoky’s Community Chat engages more than 150,000 Michaels customers per year and allows shoppers to advise each other in real time. By allowing Michaels community to talk to each other through live chat, more than 10,000 customers per month have been provided with advice that they trust and can relate to.

“TokyWoky is proud to partner with such a strong brand as Michaels, leveraging their key strength as North America’s largest arts and crafts retailer to create meaningful customer interactions and a more compelling customer experience,” said Quentin Lebeau, CEO at TokyWoky.

“We’re looking forward to showcase the innovative work we’re doing with Michaels and our other clients across the beauty, fashion, DIY, High Tech and many other industries at NRF. To host these customer interactions, TokyWoky relies on Microsoft Azure. We analyse and generate insights from these interactions, by leveraging Azure AI, natural language processing and machine learning capabilities.”

“We’re thrilled that TokyWoky is joining us at NRF showcasing how retailers are applying technology advancements to help them not only compete and succeed, but also ultimately provide the best service to their customers,” said Greg Jones, director of business strategy for Worldwide Retail at Microsoft. “As the retail industry continues to transform, our partners are critical in helping us solve retailers’ biggest challenges and uncover valuable new opportunities to re-imagine retail.”
