Tolar HashNET signs an agreement with UNDP

Preparation of concept note on SDG Business Lab in Macedonia

Tolar HashNET and United Nations Development Programme have signed an agreement for the preparation of concept note on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Lab in Macedonia.

The main objective of the agreement is the overall relevance and potential impact that new technologies like blockchain, Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence can have in solving problems including skills development, usage of renewable energy sources and increase the cooperation among organic food producers and expansion of markets. The SDG Business Lab will serve as the basis for discussion and collaboration among relevant stakeholders, initially on the above mentioned models. The Lab will be governed by the Macedonian Blockchain Node (NGO based) that will ensure that all relevant partners are brought together in order to reach common understanding and agree on proposed ways of work.

The National Council for Sustainable Development is the main body for the SDGs national agenda. The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs is Chair of the National Council for Sustainable Development, and is a designated focal point for the SDGs in Macedonia. The UNDP Strategic Plan 2018–2021 embraces the complexity of development and commits the organization to helping countries find faster, more durable solutions to achieve Agenda 2030.

In line with this, the organization has begun incubating a number of strategic initiatives aimed at ensuring UNDP is ‘fit for purpose’ to deliver a new generation of solutions in line with the challenges the world faces.The SDG lab will be developed as one of the strategic innitiatives, supported by the business model solution, innitiated and developed by Tolar HashNET.

With the introduction of the digital transformation into traditional industries, such as energy, construction and textile industry, and the integration of HashNET solution into the existing business models, those industries will be transformed gradually. With the developing the SDG lab, together with the companies and startups the ecosystem will be created, which will be able to concentrate the knowledge, share innovation, creative solutions, and develop a talent pool of high skilled youngsters. Huge social impact reducing brain drain will result in the growth of the national economy of Macedonia. The model will be replicable in different regions and contribute to the sustainable development worldwide.
