In just the past five days, Tom has visited more than 15 college campuses across Virginia. After listening to and engaging with hundreds of students, the message for us is clear: we need to make college more affordable and reduce the pressure of student debt.

The average four-year student in Virginia leaves school owing nearly $30,000. That’ll hold them back from buying their first homes, starting their own businesses, starting a family. That’s why Tom thinks offering two years of free community college, vocational training, or funded apprenticeships for Virginians is a no-brainer — and for those who choose a four year college, reducing the burden of student debt through his Working Families Plan.

As Tom says, it’s not enough to resist — we have to act. Now more than ever, it’s vital that students stand up and make their voices heard.

And when *you* speak up, Tom will be there to listen — and he’ll fight for all of us to have a better future.
