Just days before the South Carolina primary, Tom builds momentum among voters, differentiates himself from other candidates in the field, and cements his place as a top-tier candidate in this race.

In Clemson University’s Palmetto Poll released Wednesday morning, Tom is polling in second place at 17%. In a new poll by East Carolina University, Tom is polling in third place at 20%, just three points behind Sanders in second place.

“After a strong debate performance last night in Charleston, Tom’s message of uplifting communities forgotten by Washington continues to resonate with voters on the ground,” said Campaign Manager Heather Hargreaves. “On Saturday, voters in South Carolina will surprise Washington by casting their ballot for Tom, the best Democrat to unite the party, deliver real economic and racial justice, and build a diverse coalition of Americans to beat Donald Trump in November.”

Tom has consistently polled in second or third place in South Carolina.

A new CBS/YouGov poll from Sunday showed Tom at 18% in the state. Other recent polls conducted by The Post and Courier and East Carolina University also prove Tom’s momentum, showing him as a leading candidate with 18% and 19% support in South Carolina, respectively.

The latest Winthrop poll had Tom at 15%. In addition, the Post and Courier poll showed Tom earning 24% support among black voters, only six points behind Joe Biden in first place.
