We are thrilled to announce that we’re launching Tomo V2 — a fully revamped sequel to the initial Tomo app. The new app comes with many exciting additions and updates to its design, functionalities and points system!
Our goal with V2 is to enhance the overall user experience and make Tomo a premium social media platform that can even challenge the Web2 social media status quo.

Experience the New Features of Tomo V2
As we mentioned, Tomo V2 is a completely revamped version of the initial app. So, the list of new features is long.
For starters, Tomo V2 allows content creators to post public stories. These stories will generate interest among users to access the creators’ private feeds with specially curated content, enter exclusive chat rooms, and direct messaging features.
Besides, you can now connect your Instagram and X accounts to Tomo! This will help you to seamlessly connect with your Web2 friends on Tomo. You can also link your account to Hoo.be to get access to exclusive in-person events and more!
Users can also now directly DM a content creator from a story if they have the creator’s Keys. Speaking of DMs, there are new chat functionalities in Tomo as well, including sending voice notes to your friends.
The app now also comes with Local Keys, (we have initially set the distance range to 200 kilometers), to locate nearby profiles. This feature works if both parties have activated location services for the Tomo app..
Local Keys will help you to find more people in your vicinity who are using Tomo so that you can find new opportunities for real-life connections.
The app also introduces several upgrades to user profiles. You can now save and bookmark profiles so that you can follow and buy their Keys later. Furthermore, you can see the earned fees on user profiles.
Tomo V2 will display fees and other amounts primarily in dollars ($) instead of ETH. This makes it easier for all users to navigate the platform and calculate their earnings or understand fees.
Content creators can now use their earned fees to activate their ERC-4337 wallets. So they don’t need to buy crypto to start using Tomo!
The fiat onramp feature will let you directly buy ETH with your local fiat currency within the Tomo app. So you no longer need to handle crypto to use Tomo. We will automatically bridge the amount to the Linea blockchain so you can start trading and transacting immediately.
You will also be able to create custom referral links for third party decentralized applications (dapps) in the Linea ecosystem. Links to whitelisted partners can be added to your Tomo profile and shared on all other social media platforms. Every time someone signs up and uses a dapp using your link, you can earn a revenue share from it.
Finally, we are temporarily discontinuing new Votes creation. This is a technical decision, since we have enabled users to connect their Instagram and X accounts. You can still trade existing Votes but not create new Votes for now.
However, our developers will look into how to bring creating Votes back into the Tomo ecosystem in the future.
