Read about the immersive La Guitarra Española program occurring this summer in Granada, and learn how you can apply for the $1,000 tonebase Scholarship in just THREE simple steps!

This summer, you have the opportunity to spend three weeks in Granada studying with Pepe Romero, Scott Tennant, Bill Kanengiser, and a full roster of other amazing guitarists! The La Guitarra Española program takes place from July 19th to August 9th and consists of daily workshops, masterclasses, and performances. It will also be occurring at the same time as the 2nd Annual Granada Guitar Festival and the Antonio Marin Montero Guitar Building Competition. Needless to say, it will be three weeks of complete musical immersion in no better location than the birthplace of the classical guitar.

We at tonebase are excited to be giving away a $1,000 scholarship for one particularly worthy individual to attend this program. The scholarship will be used to help cover the cost of tuition and housing and may be used in addition to any separate funding received from CSU Summer Arts. To apply for the tonebase Scholarship, follow the three simple steps below!

1. Apply to La Guitarra Española

It’s super easy and there’s no application fee! All that’s needed is a brief resume, bio, and clip of your playing. Aside from the tonebase Scholarship, just about everyone accepted into the program is awarded some amount of financial aid. The deadline is April 9th, so make sure you apply today!

2. Sign up for tonebase Premium

If you’re already a member — great! If not, upgrade to tonebase Premium and gain full access to our constantly growing catalog of instructional videos from the world’s best guitarists. Click below to get started!

3. Apply for the tonebase Scholarship

Before giving out the Scholarship, we want to know a little about you as a player and your future aspirations with the classical guitar. Simply send us an email at team@tonebase.co with a link to a video of your playing and a one page reply to the following question:

What is the most valuable lesson you have learned from a teacher and how do you plan to share this same lesson with others in the classical guitar community?

Our criteria for selection will be more heavily based on the thoughtfulness of your answer and less so on the overall level of your playing. Therefore students of all levels and abilities should apply.

And that’s it! Complete those three steps before April 9th and wait for us to announce the recipient by the end of the month. This program is an amazing opportunity to learn from some of the best guitarists in the world and an experience you won’t want to miss!
