Continuing his series on the famous Twelve Etudes by Heitor Villa-Lobos, David Leisner’s NEW lesson takes a detailed look at important musical and technical ideas necessary for mastering Etude №10.

In Part 1 below, David begins by discussing the first of many discrepancies between the 1928 manuscript and the Max Eschig published edition, both of which can be found here. He continues by breaking down the slur motif found throughout the piece and demonstrating the proper movement for effortless pull-offs.
