Following up his lesson on “Adelita,” Eduardo Inestal continues teaching Francisco Tarrega’s famous miniatures with this lesson on “Marieta.” As Eduardo points out, this charming mazurka gets its name from Tarrega’s daughter Maria (who must have been equally as delightful!)

Breaking the lesson into the piece’s two minor and major sections, Eduardo starts by discussing the voice separation found at the beginning of the piece. A common theme throughout this lesson is the importance of cutting notes from ringing longer than their intended length which can be done from either the left or right hand as Eduardo points out.

Later on, he demonstrates other technical aspects to this simple piece including ideas related to left and right hand stability and preparation. After watching this lesson, you will be playing this wonderful piece as expertly as Eduardo!
