Once again, we are excited to offer one lucky guitarist a $2,000 scholarship to attend the La Guitarra Española program in Granada, Spain. Last year, the tonebase team awarded the scholarship to Phillip Reddin (read all about his amazing experience here), but this year, it could be you!

The program will take place July 23rd to August 12th and consist of daily activities including the following highlights:

  • Masterclasses and workshops with world-class artists such as Los Romeros (Pepe, Celin, Celino, and Lito Romero), Vicente Coves, Kai Narezo, Scott Morris, and more!
  • Historic concerts including the Los Romeros 60th Anniversary Concert in Granada where they will perform Concierto Andaluz as a quartet and Concierto de Aranjuez with Pepe as the soloist.
  • A culminating student performance at the gorgeous Granada City Hall

And the best part… This opportunity is open to EVERYONE, regardless of age, skill, or location.

Ready to apply for the tonebase Scholarship? It just takes two easy steps!

Masterclasses and workshops will be held by Kai Narezo, Vicente Coves, Los Romero, and more outstanding artists!

1. Submit your application to La Guitarra Española

It’s super easy and there’s no application fee! All that’s needed is a brief resume, bio, and clip of your playing. Aside from the tonebase Scholarship, just about everyone accepted into the program is awarded some amount of financial aid. The deadline is April 15th, so make sure you apply today!

2. Post a clip of you playing either on Facebook or Instagram

…and in the description, provide a brief answer to the following question:

What is the most valuable lesson you have learned from a teacher and how do you plan to share this same lesson with others in the classical guitar community?

Then, tag us (@tonebaseteam) so we see your video and answer to our question!

Our criteria for scholarship selection will be much more heavily based on the thoughtfulness of your answer and less so on the overall level of your playing. Therefore students of all levels and abilities should apply.

(P.S. If you’re not on social media, no worries! Just send your performance and description to team@tonebase.co)

And that’s it! Complete those two steps before April 15th and wait for us to announce the recipient by the end of the month. This program is an amazing opportunity to learn from some of the best guitarists in the world and an experience you won’t want to miss!
