A few weeks ago we launched the tonebase Classical Guitar Podcast with David Steinhardt. If you haven’t heard already, find out more about it here:

This week we had the pleasure of releasing Season 1, Episode 3 of the podcast, featuring an in depth discussion with none other than the 2016 GFA-winner Xavier Jara.

The interview covers a breadth of topics, from Jara’s experience recording his NAXOS album with the legendary Norbert Kraft, his learnings from the yearlong GFA-tour, and his passion for Hauser guitars.

If you haven’t watched Season 1, Episode 2 yet, it featured Xavier’s well-known teacher — Judical Perroy. See if you can pick out Judicael’s influences in young Jara, and in his approach to the Classical Guitar as we get a fascinating glimpse into the shaping of a true artist.

About Xavier Jara: A winner of the coveted GFA competition (2016), Xavier Jara recently completed his 50 concert North American tour. He now resides in San Francisco where he is continuing his studies with Judicael Perroy and playing concerts across the country. Xavier is an Augustine Strings artist.
