We are Tongue and Sole Lab LLC, the first NFT project of its kind for sneaker and NFT lovers galore. Instead of boring you with a long-winded introduction, let’s dive right into what we’re all about.

Celebrating and furthering sneaker culture

Contrary to popular belief, sneaker culture does not revolve around multinational footwear corporations. It’s rooted in us–the people who accept shoes as a universal language of expression, individuality, history, innovation, functionality, and art. We’ve created eight fresh models that pay tribute to how far the culture has come, inspired by some of the dopest real-life sneakers to date.

Revolutionizing the Custom Sneaker Landscape

We’ve teamed up with Ty Williams (@ty.yourshoes2), Cody Schoeni (@kingscustom.s), and Nate Higham (@bmorecustomz), three extraordinarily talented customizers and the trailblazers of the sneaker world. During our first meeting way back when, they all agreed that while they love turning customers’ sneaker ideas into reality, being commission-based can limit their own creative freedom, as there’s little time to make designs from their own ideas and inspirations. So not only will they be hand-designing the rarest and most exclusive Tongue and Sole Lab NFTs, they’ll also be spearheading our physical utility, with a framework that enables much greater design autonomy.

We strongly believe that unique and custom sneakers in the digital art space are the next big thing, so we’re here to facilitate that movement and connect it to the physical world, exploring an entirely new way to wear your NFTs and access some sick custom kicks. Supporting both sneaker artists and the community as a whole through our NFTs is the ultimate celebration and invitation into sneaker culture.

Bridging the NFT and sneaker communities

What do shoes and NFTs have in common? The short answer: both are art, both are collectibles. Their respective communities are two of the most exciting, dynamic spaces out there, and tons of sneakerheads have already gravitated towards NFTs but don’t know where to start. Enter: Tongue and Sole Lab (TASL), a tight-knit space for anyone interested in either. TASL is a place to learn and build lasting relationships.

We’ve spent months working on our collection behind the scenes–long before the birth of this blog. So why not publicize our findings and allow others to learn from our mistakes? You’ll learn quickly that we value transparency and honesty, which is why we’re writing weekly Medium blogs documenting our every step (and misstep) in creating TASL. As a project founded by five college students, we hope that sharing our story will empower people our age (or younger!) to undertake their own endeavors with confidence.
