TontineTrust Appoints Leading Entrepreneur & Tontine fan Michael Edelson as an Advisor

TontineTrust the blockchain-based, community driven global retirement funding platform, announces that Michael (“Mike”) Edelson has joined its Board of Advisors.
Edelson is an angel investor, venture capitalist and philanthropist. Since 1999 he has been enabling community participation in projects whether it be publicly traded football clubs or startup technology business like Magic Moments / Hosteurope, later sold to Godaddy for $1.82bn or ASOS Plc now an $8bn company earning himself the City nickname “the Shellmeister”. He has also been, since 1982, a non-executive director of Manchester United FC.
Mike is also currently Executive Chairman of SysGroup plc, a cloud hosting & IT services provider and Chairman of Bidooh Ltd which is decentralizing digital billboards and which has also recently undertaken a global token sale.
Edelson commented that “While discussing with Dean last year where blockchain can have the most impact, he brought up the potential benefits of a globally trusted tontine society. I understood tontines because as a young boy my father had been a member of the Provincial Independent Tontine Society in Manchester. This was shortly after the end of WWII, a time when people were laid off with no pay if their factory had no work. They also paid wages when my father fell ill all in return for a small weekly contribution. It benefited my family on a number of occasions.
It was obvious to me that creating low-cost, fully transparent community owned tontine pensions is a timely subject and is an outstanding use for blockchain technology.
