I Don’t Want To Kill My Sister’s Cat

No, I really do not, but…

A large, fluffy ginger cat with expressive green eyes and long whiskers looks upward while lying on a wooden table. Its front paws are stretched out, and the cat has a curious expression, with ears perked up. The background is softly blurred, highlighting the cat’s relaxed but attentive posture.

Honestly, I love cats. I love cats much more than dogs, and I would never hurt a dog. Never.

I mean, I probably have hurt dogs unintentionally. I did that just yesterday when I stopped for a minute to talk to my neighbor who was walking her cute Dachshund. I took out my AirPods and Marcus, the Dachshund, thought they were treats.

And they are not, which you probably know, but I just want to be clear here because if you didn’t know dogs at all, you might think Dachshunds are some kind of fancy German snack.

I suppose they are, if you are a wolf, but wolves are not allowed at Medium and I would be very upset if a wolf ate Marcus. Fortunately, I do not think we have wolves here. I have seen a fox, but she’s only about the size of Marcus, and Marcus is always with one of his humans, so I don’t think any of us need to worry. I don’t know why I even mentioned it.

Marcus is not at fault for thinking I might have a treat. Bob, the other human in their family, always has dog treats and, if I stop to talk to him, Bob usually passes me a little treat for Marcus.

Just a fraction of a second, a smidgen, probably immeasurable by an atomic clock…
