I’m Beginning to Dislike People Who Advertise Their Substack Here
This will definitely have an impact on whether I subscribe
I tried Substack. I didn’t like it immediately. I don’t like its business model, I don’t like its interface, I don’t like anything about it. That’s fine, I don’t have to be there, do I?
But there are extremely rude people who have sent me their unwanted Substack writing because I subscribed to get email notifications of their Medium posts.
That’s unacceptable, and I believe it may even be illegal in some countries. If it were illegal here in the U.S.A., I would have turned those jerks in instantly. Having no such option here, I replied with a scathing complaint about their inconsiderate action.
I also unsubscribed from their Medium posts and unfollowed them. I don’t want any of my money going to them. And now I’m thinking about doing even more.
Why should I subscribe on Medium to anyone advertising their Substack?
There is nobody — NOBODY — on Substack who is worth the minimum $5 subscription they all want.
