You might not know that I keep a List of recently updated stories. This isn’t me fixing typos — it’s when I have learned something after publishing that changes the post significantly.

I thought I should also put the recent changes in one place, so this is that, and I’ll do it again on any Sunday when there have been changes.

Update 11–27–2024: Now that my wife and I both have iPhone 16’s, finding each other in a large store or mall is much easier. The improved performance is probably because of Bluetooth 6.0, newer Ultra-Wideband chips, and tighter hardware integration. Note: don’t try to find your spouses phone; have it find the person.

If You Can Pinpoint My Airpods, Why Can’t You Find My Wife at the Mall?

Update: If you have another device (an iPad or macBook) do NOT let it connect to your hearing aid Airpods automatically. It will prevent them from working with your phone.

If you are in the Ear controls and turn on Live Listen at the very bottom, keeping your phone near you, you can adjust the room volume with your physical outside volume buttons on the phone. It sounds different with Conversation Boost on or off. Also, don’t slide your phone on a hard surface with Live Listen on — it makes a racket.
