Fundación Sin Tabú, a Venezuelan NGO that runs several social programs in the country, has inaugurated a cafeteria that will offer daily meals to 50 children from the region of La Florida, in Caracas. The most interesting and new thing about this project is that it had a large part financed with donations from the Dash coin.

This all happened because the NGO started participating in the Dash currency conferences in Venezuela at the end of last year, and after that managed to raise a significant donations fund of the cryptocurrency.

The cafeteria will operate in the pre-school spaces of the region, and is open to all low income children, especially those who do not attend school. The program aims to offer at least one daily meal with quality and nutrients that children need. When serving the little ones, volunteers should help.

In an interview with Diário Bitcoin, the NGO’s representative, Luis Angel Mora said that in addition to feeding children in precarious situations, with levels of malnutrition, the project is to reintegrate these children into the school system.

Cases such as this show how cryptocurrencies are used for good causes, and how the growth and popularization of these new assets is important to the economy of the world.
