Wolfgang Pauli (1900–1958) was one of the most gifted scientists and thinkers who made some of the most significant contributions to our understanding of nature.

The young scientist was heartbroken. His cabaret singer wife left him for an old boyfriend after less than a year of marriage. The old boyfriend was a chemist and the jilted, brilliant young scientist complained that if his wife had left him for a bullfighter, he might have understood. But a chemist? After all, Wolfgang Pauli was a physicist specializing in the mind-bending new science of quantum physics.
