What Difference Belief in God Makes

I recounted in a previous post a conversation with a friend about faith and science. The friend, to my surprise, in a follow up email told me that he could not refute my argument for why God exists, and therefore felt it necessary to agree. But, then he asked a difficult question:

“What difference does it make?”
