Bringing Our Online Communities Offline
Creating high-engagement online communities AND bringing people together in real life is the foundation that Top Floor is built upon. And while the Top Floor community interactions are primarily based online, the Penthouse Members of Top floor are well aware of the power and influence that comes along with real life events and networking. With that in mind, we wanted to find a way where both would be able to weave both worlds seamlessly together.
We consider ourselves forward-thinkers here at Top Floor which is why we wanted to leverage the benefits of innovative technology such as the power of Web 3.0 and the Discord platform.
Why Web 3.0 and Discord?
The benefits of Web 3.0 technology (blockchain/NFT) allows our community members to be able to trade or sell their Residence Key (access). The Residence Key is what allows members with the Resident status to have access to our exclusive sub-community and its privileges.
The Discord platform allows the Top Floor channel to hold upwards of 1 million people which means we have to anticipate interested members coming from all over. Having that thought in mind along with our vision of combining online and real world communities we knew we would have to link geographical areas to our Residence Keys. Ultimately this means that a local Top Floor support network could provide an immense value for entrepreneurs looking for mentorship or business expansion in a specific area.
How do we incorporate the Residence Key with local Top Floor Support networks?
You may have already heard but there will be a limited supply of Residence Keys in existence. Additionally, we will only release Residence Keys for purchase in waves. This is to ensure we scale the community resources effectively.

We’ve decided to link Residence Keys to cities.
We love this idea because we can center events around Residence Key releases thereby allowing the Top Floor community to come to each city and celebrate new Residents to the community as well provide additional opportunities for networking events and collaborations.
The first “Residence Key to the City” we release will be Houston. We felt it appropriate since 4 of the Top Floor co-founders were born and raised in Houston. We also liked the idea of Houston being the site of the first key because of the stage at which Houston is at in its maturity when it comes to urban entrepreneurship.
Houston has traditionally been a blue collar town where most people would work 9–5’s and be completely satisfied due to the low cost of living. Then we had the financial education boom of the 2020’s that awakened a new age of entrepreneurs who demanded that their time, freedom and choice of income were back in the power of their own hands. In this spirit, Houston is the prime physical location for this embodiment due to the sheer amount of young and successful minorities. In fact Houston is one of the top metros for minority-owned startups.
One thing we want to make clear is that you do not have to be a Houston resident to reap the benefits of the Residence Key. We already have the next 19 cities planned out. Once you own a Residence key of any city then you will have access to all Official Top Floor Activities and the exclusive online community which has member-only channels, digital events, and special courses. This fact alone makes the first key amazingly valuable as it allows you the opportunity to to begin leveraging the communities digital and physical resources immediately.
The Residence Key, regardless of city, will provide benefits unseen before from the financial education, networking communities and blockchain industries…combined. We’re excited to begin rolling out our Key to the City program so that our Top Floor members can activate ASAP!
