And then some more!

McFred’s Back

I had hoped Ole wouldn’t revert to his default settings, but with the result, he got last weekend without them, this was, as Thanos would say, ‘inevitable’. Although neither played particularly bad today, Pogba’s introduction really upped the tempo, and his presence was missed in the first half.

Ronaldo Can Press?

There have been some players criticised after the Leicester game, one of them is Cristiano Ronaldo who has been called out for running and pressing too little which is causing extra work and trouble for his team-mates. Do you see this as a problem, and if so, how are you planning to sort it?

This was the question directed to Ole in the press conference. Seems like he solved it as this was the first time I saw Ronaldo press from the front and trackback, especially when he was shifted to the left to accommodate Cavani. While this isn’t the most pressing issue (pun intended) Ole has, fixing this for good could do wonders to the team structure.

Silly Defending, Silly Goals

Don’t lose your man. Don’t try to play your man offside every time. Don’t lose sight of the ball. Don’t be afraid to put your body on the line.

These are some of the basic thing’s you’re told as a defender. But you got to know when to apply which principle. And United’s defence just didn’t.

2nd Half FC

I was quite happy with the performance (in the first half). You felt like we’re gonna grow and grow more into the game and it happened.

These were Ole’s thoughts after the game. I absolutely love the positivity that the players and manager had even though we were 2–0 down, but why do we need to always concede a few goals, before turning on the style in the second half?

Nonetheless a brilliant turnaround, and if he can keep on doing this and get through this brutal fixture run, his job may not be in danger anymore.
