Back in 2010, I started a sports “blog”, which was really just a sports news recap that I emailed a small group of family members and family friends. This particular update came from late February of that year, a few days before my 11th birthday. This is unedited, so the spelling/grammar isn’t perfect, but I was trying my best and having a lot of fun with it. Hopefully, you’ll get a kick out of this.

(And yes, I was crazy about college hoops even back then.)

Sports Blog #4 February 25- The Bubble Watch Heats Up

After yesterday’s absence I am back and feel confident as ever in my predictions of the NCAA field. The weeks left, everybody is scrambling and this blog will be very devoted to talking about that, but I will start out with the regular NBA.

Andrew Bogut. Does that name ring a bell for any of you? How about Utah? Please tell me you get the picture now. Forget it. Andrew Bogut was the first overall draft pick by the Bucks in the 2005 draft and that is where he is right now. A stellar center for Utah for two years and now he has amazing statistics for his last two games. A combined 50 points and 33 rebounds. That is unheard of for a guy who really hasn’t had a world of NBA success. In the east, the Raptors, Bulls, Bucks, and Bobcats are in for a race for the last 3 spots. Can’t wait to see how this season plays out!

Did somebody say Mark McGuire? Well according to his brother, he knew what he was doing with performance enhancing drugs. The question is why are you continuously lying? We all know what you did and the reason we are mad at you right now is because of the lies. In fact, a shout out to all of the players of all sports. If you use drugs, someone will find out. Don’t go through the drama of lies. Bonds, Clemens, McGuire, really. White Sox manager Ozzy Guillen is apparently on Twitter. That’s the guy you know from his idiotic rages and rants. Well let’s just say that his Twitter rally matches his attitude. That guy is just a LOSER. Didn’t realize caps lock was on, but it is better this way.

Congratulations to NASCAR driver Carl Edwards on his new kid. Just yesterday I believe Kate and him brought in the new addition to the family. This is now the age of Kevin Harvick. Early pick to win the championship is Kevin. 2nd Jimmie and 3rd Greg Biffle. How about those predictions?

I’m going to entirely skip football for today, because there isn’t anything besides the combine. An Olympic medal count. US has 28, Germany with 26. In third is Norway with 19. Canada comes in fourth with 15. A close fifth is a surprise, Russia! 13 medals for them. Previously in the top 5 is Austria, 6th, France in eighth, and China in tenth. We have now lost the lead in gold to Germany, believe it or not. 8 to 7 and Canada and Norway have seven too. We have in fact, though clinched a silver or gold in Women’s Hockey. So actually, we are up by 3.

I will end this blog with my favorite thing to talk for hours about, College Basketball. Bubble teams, bubble teams…here are my four teams who will just squeeze their way in. In no particular order, Mississippi State, UAB, UConn, Sam Houston St. First four out are Cincinnati, San Diego St., Old Dominion, and Dayton. Oh, Dayton. I have a question. If South Carolina beats Kentucky a second time and wins two games in the SEC tournament, do they stand a chance in the Bracket? That would be like 20–14 for them with 3 wins against top 25 SEC teams, 2 on the road! They look good with Devan Downey. Then there is Illinois. I think they are in definitely despite 10 losses. People say really, 10 losses and in? Well look at their SOS and RPI people! I mean strength of schedule and ratings percentage index. They have quality wins and are in the tourney. Duke in my opinion is more so a #1 seed them Purdue is. Whatever, have them do what they want, but a team with 3 people averaging 15+ points a game is a force to be reckoned with. I just now realized how long this section is so I now come to a close.
