Hey everyone, welcome back to our review of weeks 2 and 3 of the NFL! It was an exciting couple weeks of football with lots of close games and a bunch of upsets. The biggest upset being the one the Chiefs suffered against the Chargers; a staggering 30–24. That’s two weeks in a row the Chiefs have struggled to win highly favourable matchups. It goes to show that sometimes in sports (and life in general) it’s really not your night. Let’s take a quick dive into all the games we projected and take a look at what went down.

NFL Week 2:

Giants vs. Washington — 46.2% to 53.8% — Washington wins 30–29

Falcons vs. Buccaneers — 39.9% to 60.1% — Buccaneers win 48–25

Cowboys vs. Chargers — 52.8% to 47.2% — Cowboys win 20–17

Chiefs vs. Ravens — 53.9% to 46.1% — Ravens win 36–35

Lions vs. Packers — 43.0% to 57.0% — Packers win 35–17

NFL Week 3:

Panthers vs. Texans — 52.5% to 47.5% — Panthers win 24–9

Chargers vs. Chiefs — 56.3% to 43.7% — Chargers win 30–24

Colts vs. Titans — 47.6% to 52.4% — Titans win 25–16

Packers vs. 49ers — 51.9% to 48.1% — Packers win 30–28

Eagles vs. Cowboys — 54.5% to 45.5% — Cowboys win 41–21

Overall almost all the games we predicted went the way we expected save for the Chiefs games for both weeks and the Eagles game where Dak Prescott easily had his best performance of the season so far. That gives us a solid average of 70% accuracy over the two weeks. I don’t think we’re the only ones that have been overestimating the Chiefs as fans must be worried about their 1–2 record to start the season. I wouldn’t worry too much as a fan though as clearly this is just an outlier. The Chiefs are way too talented to stay in last place in their division for the rest of the season. Our team at CNG however are taking these outliers seriously and are doing further analysis on all the factors that contributed to the Chiefs losing to relatively easy opponents. That way in the future you guys can trust that we take everything into consideration when making our predictions.
