Day 1 of the 2021 NFL Draft was full of exciting surprises early and often. The first 4 Draft picks went as expected and it was all unpredictable therein after the 4th pick. Some Prospects went earlier than expected and some Prospects went later than expected.

With that in mind today we’ll be focusing on the Top 5 Prospects who are still available and who will go later than originally expected heading into today, Day 2 of the 2021 NFL Draft.

1. Hamilcar Rashed Jr., DE/OLB, Oregon State

2021 NFL Draft Big Board Ranking: 6th Overall

Summary:

Hamilcar Rashed Jr. is by far the best player still waiting to hear his name called heading into Day 2 of the Draft. He has a mean streak and plays bigger than he is. His playstyle is reminiscent of Carl Lawson, who was snubbed because of his short wingspan, much Like Rashed Jr.

Rashed Jr. should get looks in the early to late 3rd Round though and it would be surprising if he doesn’t get picked on day 2. He had a monster Junior 2019 College Football Season in which he recorded an incredible 14.0 Sacks. After a Senior season in which he recorded no Sack in 2020, Rashed Jr. has seen his Draft Stock plummet. He’s determined to prove his doubters wrong though and he’ll be one of the biggest steals of the 2021 NFL Draft Class.

2. Jordan Smith, DE/OLB, UAB

Summary:

It's unbelievable to think that there were inferior prospects and specifically Pass rushers that went ahead of Jordan Smith on Day 1. Smith is an every-down Lineman that gets to the Quarterback with ease and can stop the run. He should hear his name called in the 3rd round.

3. Tyson Campbell, CB, Georgia

Summary:

If there was ever a time for Tyson Campbell to sneak into the 1st round, it would’ve been at 29th overall to the Green Bay Packers. Instead, the Packers inexplicably took Campbell’s former teammate, Eric Stokes. Tyson Campbell is a starting-caliber Corner with long arms, height, athleticism, and great coverage skills. Campbell will hear his name called early in the 2nd round.

4. Kelvin Joseph, CB Kentucky

Summary:

It's surprising to see Joseph still on the board. There were strong implications that he’d be a 1st round pick. He has great hands, speed, and a nose for the ball to cause interceptions. Joseph has big-time playmaking ability and should be off the Board by the end of day 2.

5. Mike Strachan, WR, Charleston

Summary:

This one isn’t surprising. Strachan wasn’t going to go in the 1st Round. However, that doesn’t mean he isn’t a 1st Round caliber Prospect, because he is. In fact, Strachan is the 17th Overall Prospect on the 2021 NFL Draft Big Board.

The Problem with Strachan’s Draft stock is the fact that he played for a small Division II College and isn’t getting a lot of attention from scouts. He’s a sleeper who is being vastly overlooked. Strachan has a strong and tall build (6'5) with great hands, smooth route running ability, acceleration, speed to create separation, and uses his athleticism to make catches in traffic.

If Strachan played for a Division I school, we’d be talking about him being a Top 10 pick. Hopefully, a team like the Packers, Steelers, or Saints pick him up on day two.
