AMA Part 1

Can you provide an overview of TOP AI Network?

Stella: TOP AI Network is an L1 blockchain that employs sharding technology and a three-layer network, supporting real business with high transaction throughput, high speed, and low fees. This year, TOP AI Network has initiated the development in AI, aiming to serve thousands of AI applications by bringing decentralized and censorship-resistant model and computing power services to the blockchain.

What motivated your team to upgrade your brand, from TOP Network to TOP AI Network?

Stella: The generative model technology that emerged in 2023 has significantly enhanced human productivity at work. It carries vast amounts of knowledge and experience data through deep learning and outputs products via simple question-and-answer interactions. This approach can be applied to various professional skills and knowledge, creating a massive demand. However, these needs are difficult to meet through centralized AI-as-a-service providers due to numerous issues such as censorship restrictions, inability to use models freely, and lack of model diversity that fail to meet personalized needs. Additionally, when individuals or enterprises train models, there is a risk of core data being leaked or shared.

To address these problems, TOP Network has decided to upgrade to TOP AI Network by adding an AI shard to create a decentralized AI model sharding network. This not only completely resolves the issue of model censorship, ensuring the freedom and diversity of model usage, but also significantly reduces the cost of model computing power through decentralized incentive mechanisms.

How will the brand upgrade affect your business? Will your previous business continue, and are there any recent developments for previous business?

Stella: For TOP AI, fully transitioning towards AI is a natural progression, and the brand upgrade aligns with this shift. Over the past two years, our focus has been on the development of the EVM shard, which connects TOP AI to the external EVM ecosystem, ensuring that TOP AI is no longer an isolated L1 island. However, the core mission of TOP AI remains to serve high-frequency, real-world business needs, and AI is the perfect fit for this purpose. Our previous business development efforts have not been in vain, as an open ecosystem is essential for promoting on-chain asset circulation. Our cross-chain bridge and DEX on the EVM shard are ready and will be gradually launched in the third quarter of this year.

What are your plans in AI? What progress can we expect in the future?

Stella: The TOP AI Network will add an AI shard to its existing architecture, specifically designed to handle AI-related tasks and serve three primary roles within AI industry:

1. AI Application Developers: They can utilize any model published on TOP AI without any review or permission restrictions.

2. Model Providers: They can freely publish their models on TOP AI and receive on-chain incentives.

3. Computing Nodes: By providing high-performance computing power to run AI models, they can receive miner incentives and additional subsidies from the foundation during the first five years after launch.

Currently, the AI shard is in the early design and critical technology verification stages. We expect that by September, all components will be able to operate within the system, forming a complete internal POC. After that, we will focus on transforming this POC version into a beta version, which will be open to interested computing nodes for participation.

What are your expectations for future partners, and which types of projects or brands are you looking to expand into?

Stella: We are focused on providing blockchain infrastructure to solve real-world business problems, and our commitment to the AI direction strengthens our determination and selectivity in seeking partners and promoting to our audience. As mentioned in the previous question, the three roles we are looking to collaborate with are AI application developers, model providers, and computing nodes.

In the initial stages of our project, computing nodes are the most crucial for us. Without them, the entire platform lacks the computing power to drive and operate the models. After establishing the foundational network, our next goal is to enhance the diversity of models. A wide variety of models that meet various needs is essential for the long-term operation of the platform.

Lastly, TOP AI aims for greater exposure and community engagement, which inevitably requires implementing AI applications. Delivering real, high-quality services will attract genuine traffic and value.

Part 2: Questions from X

There are many AI service providers in the current market. What are the advantages of your decentralized AI solution, and how can it stand out?

Stella: Most AI service providers currently offer closed services. Once users choose a particular provider, they need to select various modules within the provider’s framework and ultimately use the provider’s proprietary computing power.

This approach brings several issues, as we mentioned earlier, such as restricted access to desired models due to censorship, limited customization options due to overly generic models, and risks of data leakage and sharing when training models with the provider. Some decentralized AI service providers focus mainly on supplying computing power rather than models, which also fails to fully meet the needs of AI application developers. Therefore, our solution balances openness, efficiency, security, and affordability.

Can TOP AI Network’s current technical framework quickly integrate with AI services?

Stella: The AI shard primarily serves AI application developers, offering services such as model inference and training. If the AI application developer have a clear understanding of the models they need and are satisfied with a particular model on the platform, the process is straightforward. They only need to pay the required fee and send requests to the model’s API to obtain the output results. Furthermore, if the AI application developer already have a model, they can also place it on the platform for run. This not only reduces their computing costs but also allows them to earn revenue as model providers, further lowering their expenses.

However, if the AI application users are not entirely sure about their requirements and need to adjust and test models, the integration process with the platform may be more complex. Nonetheless, this is a necessary part of the AI application development process and is generally encountered in the field.

What mining methods does TOP currently have, and what mining method is recommended for ordinary users?

Stella: In TOP’s current economic model, 76% of the tokens are generated by mining nodes, 20% of the tokens are distributed based on users’ staking, and 4% belong to the foundation. Within the 76% allocated to mining, 60% is distributed t o Validator nodes, 10% to Advanced nodes, and the remaining 6% is distributed to edge nodes and achieved nodes.

For regular users, they can interact with our staking dapp directly through the website or download our Android wallet for a more secure connection. TOP’s staking service consists of two steps. First, users need to convert their TOP tokens into tickets based on different lock-up periods; the longer the lock-up period, the more tickets they receive. Second, users vote for nodes with their tickets and can earn rewards daily.

After the new AI shard is launched, what type of nodes are generally required to participate in mining? Are there any reference projects?

Stella: After the establishment of the AI shard, computing power nodes will occupy a significant portion of the mining output. To become a node in the AI shard, one needs to have GPU computing resources. We have set the threshold quite low, so consumer-grade graphics cards can participate in mining. For a similar project, io.net can be used as a reference; it uses different GPUs as billing units and offers two types of income: online duration mining and task-based payments. Additionally, we will provide another type of income based on task mining rewards.

On which exchanges can $TOP be traded?

Stella: TOP tokens can be traded on Huobi Global and MEXC.
