TOP Network AMA Recap with Crypto World Club Community

On July 5th, TOP Senior Product Manager Stella conducted a community AMA with the Crypto World Club community, introducing TOP to the Crypto community and further sharing about the AI shard on the TOP chain and the roles that will emerge.

Host: Could you introduce yourself and your project TOP Network?

Stella: TOP Network is a blockchain that employs sharding technology and a three-layer network, supporting real business with high transaction throughput, high speed, and low fees. TOP is transforming into a decentralized AI infrastructure. The AI Lab established by the foundation will incubate on-chain projects and deeply integrate them with the TOP chain. This will bring more use cases to the TOP chain and attract more AI model developers and application developers.

Host: Can you tell us more about the status of the TOP mainnet?

Stella: TOP’s mainnet was launched at the end of 2020 and has been running stably for over three years, with over 500 nodes across the network. The nodes are mainly divided into four roles: audit nodes, validation nodes, achieve nodes, and edge nodes, all of which earn work rewards from network operations. We also offer staking services for users, which can be accessed directly from our official website.

Host: We checked your new website and noticed information stating that TOP Network delivers high-performance, low-cost blockchain infrastructure and an AI supporting framework. Our question is: Is AI your main business, and what is the structure of your mainnet?

Stella: AI will be our main business focus, driven by the global trend towards AI and the practical needs of the TOP chain.

Firstly, the centralized AI systems of large companies create issues with data privacy and model censorship, highlighting the clear need for decentralized AI infrastructure. Secondly, TOP needs to stand out from the highly homogenized public chain space, and TOP Foundation has established an AI Lab to guide this work. Currently, TOP has 4 main shards and one EVM shard. The main shards handle the underlying transfer and transaction consensus tasks, while the EVM shard supports cross-chain circulation of assets and applications. An AI shard will be added to build a decentralized service market for AI models.

Host: Could you tell us more about the AI shard? What are its main roles?

Stella: TOP’s AI shard can directly provide model services to external parties, managing computing resources and model tasks in a decentralized manner. In this shard, participants can be divided into the following roles:

A. Model Providers: Model creators can publish their models on TOP, facilitating direct access to computing power and reducing costs.

B. Model Users: Users of the models can invoke the published models on TOP and pay for the computational resources they use.

C. Computing Nodes: These nodes provide high-performance GPUs, enabling AI models to run and produce the expected results. They earn rewards for providing computing power and also oversee other computing nodes to ensure they meet service standards.

Host: What effect do you anticipate this AI shard will have on TOP?

Stella: The AI shard will bring real business opportunities to TOP, which is our primary goal. We also hope that some nodes on the main shard will migrate to the AI shard to run high-value tasks. To achieve this, we will design a unique economic model for the AI shard based on AI business activities and allocate a portion of the original mining rewards to the AI shard.

Q1: Staking Program is very important for any project, Can I stake your token?

Stella: Sure, staking is a crucial part of our ecosystem. Users can interact with our staking dapp directly through the website or download our Android wallet for a more secure connection. TOP’s staking service consists of two steps. First, users need to convert their TOP tokens into tickets based on different lock-up periods; the longer the lock-up period, the more tickets they receive. Second, users vote for nodes with their tickets and can earn rewards daily.

Q2: Do you have a AUDIT certificates? or Are you working to AUDIT your project, so that the security of the project becomes more Secure and Reliable?

Stella: Of course, TOP has undergone a public blockchain security audit after its launch, and the audit report is available on the homepage, the result is excellent. During operation, we will also ensure compliance with relevant regulations and laws through data encryption and compliance audits.

Q3: Have you had any recent updates on your project? Can you tell us something about your plan?

Stella: As you just mentioned, we have recently updated our website content, and there will be 1–2 more updates coming soon. Currently, the litepaper for the AI shard is being drafted, and the technical design is also underway. Additionally, designing the economic model is a crucial task. We will engage in thorough communication with the community to ensure a balance of interests for all parties involved.

Q4: AI is a relatively popular concept at the moment, and it seems that TOP is also moving in this direction according to the introduction. What measures will you take to attract computing power to the TOP chain?

Stella: Designing the economic model is certainly our top priority. We will ensure that the rewards offered on the network satisfy the computing power miners, as this is the fundamental attraction. Additionally, we will provide ample community and technical support to help model providers and computing power miners enter the network smoothly, reducing their entry barriers. Lastly, the AI Lab will offer an incubation program for on-chain AI applications, promoting the influx of real-world business. This will also stimulate the growth of model tasks and increase the income of all participants.
