TOP Network Gears Up for a Fast-Paced 2022 with its Action-Packed Roadmap
We have released our roadmap for 2022, which consists of all the juicy details covering shards, cross-chain support, a DEX, and NFTs. Overall, TOP Network will be making strong moves towards Web 3.0 this year.
To start with, we will be launching the Ethereum-compatible shards of TOP mainnet. The TOP public chain is already the world’s first full-state sharding public chain and currently has four shards.
Ethereum has been planning to introduce sharding, a method of splitting the single blockchain into several separate chains, for years. It will only be rolled out after Ethereum’s current proof-of-work (PoW) system merges with the proof-of-stake system, ETH 2.0, which is being tested on the Beacon Chain.
Once we implement the Ethereum-compatible shards, we will shift our focus on promoting the development of the TOP chain ecology. After all, the high gas fees on Ethereum during volatile times can only be paid in ETH, which creates a high barrier for new users and limits the value of DeFi on Ethereum.
Implementing Ethereum-compatible shards will allow various Dapps and assets on Ethereum to be migrated to the TOP public chain and benefit from the fast speed and low fees.
Designed for communication, low-cost and high-speed transmission is actually the core of the TOP’s public chain. Furthermore, TOP will migrate to the GAS mechanism of the Ethereum EIP-1559, which will lead to burning some TOP tokens.
Going Cross-Chain
TOP Network is not just bringing Ethereum-compatible shards, as there will also be a cross-chain bridge, which will bridge Top Network with Ethereum (ETH), Binance Smart Chain (BSC), and HECO Chain. Additionally, the TOP network’s native token TOP will be compatible with Ethereum standard wallet, attracting more users from the Ethereum ecosystem.
After achieving this goal, we will migrate the cooperative DeFi applications to these shards. LUCKTOGETHER and Filet have already been confirmed to be migrated to TOP mainnet. TOP Chain meanwhile currently supports decentralized VPN service BitVPN, which is the first DApp on TOP’s mainnet, and GameFi protocol FARM Island.
TOP assets can then be freely traded between Ethereum, BNB chain, HECO chain, and TOP mainnet during Q2 and Q3. It will further lead to mapping and free trading of TOP tokens and its own stablecoin across these different blockchains.
TOP token holders can stake their coins, either as a miner by installing a tool or as a voter to vote miners and earn rewards. Users can already stake TOP to mine FIL tokens on the BSC and HECO chains without needing to purchase a mining machine, which lowers the barrier for Filecoin mining to a great degree.
The TOP token is currently available on centralized exchanges like Huobi Global, Bithumb Global, and Hotbit. You can also buy the token on decentralized exchanges PanCakeSwap and MDEX.
In the second half of 2022, we have plans to enter the non-fungible tokens (NFT) space, whose sales soared to around $25 billion in 2021. Data shows that the market cap of NFTs had a tenfold increase between 2018 and 2020. To capture this growing market, TOP will be launching an NFT hosting platform and GameFi products.
During the last two quarters of this year, our team will also bring its own decentralized exchange TOP DEX online. Overall, the entire 2022 is fully packed with all the interesting feature rollouts, which will keep our user base hooked to Top Network.
