Welcome to the first installment of Top of the Page. This introduces a different book each month. Each issue provides concise, bite-sized insights so you can get the good stuff and use it to make decisions. The books featured are ones that I am finding relevant or useful in my own work and that I think you will too.

Generally speaking, I read titles relevant to the categories below.

⏺️ Leadership
⏺️️️ People management
⏺️ Change management
⏺️ Process design
⏺️ Process improvement
⏺️ Business development
⏺️ Project management

Is This Series for Me?

This series is written for busy business leaders by a busy business leader. If you are like me and you mine books for tidbits that help you run your company, you might like the discussions presented in Top of the Page. I will curate titles that provide interesting insights to me as a business leader and that I think might help other business leaders, like you.

My intent is to give you quick access to the insights in a book if you haven’t read it. Or to provide a different perspective, if you have. I’ll keep the discussion short and straight to the point. Each month, I’ll provide my overall impression of a book (or two), a quick summary, key takeaways, and favorite quotes.

How Books Are Selected

Books are pulled from my own personal reading list and recommendations from other business leaders. They are a mixture of old standards and newer texts. Most of the titles on my reading list revolve around leadership, management, or strategy.

I have an insatiable curiosity; I’m always on the hunt for interesting ideas that I can apply to my business or to my clients’ businesses. So I’ll occasionally include other books in this series whose ideas can be creatively applied to business, even though they may not seem like “business books” upon first glance. Likewise, I will occasionally add videos, articles or podcasts to the mix.

Final Thoughts

There are so many great ideas out there. I look forward to sharing some of them with you.

If you have a recommended title, let me know!
