CROSSFIT JOURNEY 2016 BEGINS

Today is my 1yr anniversary of training CrossFit and it’s been a rollercoaster ride. I have had great support from trainers, my wife & other crossfitters and now my first objective is done ✅ 💪🏼🎉🍾

“Do CrossFit 1–2 times a week for 1 year”

Achieving this goal is big to me because I have tried a lot of different things to be a more healthy version of myself and failed every time!

I’ve learned that Crossfit is the right sport for me, it has all the elements that I love:

  • Community and support like other team sports eg. Soccer/football, even across borders where it’s been a surprise to me that they always respond yes to join their box (the picture is from a small town Yavne, Israel).
  • Instant results which drive me 24/7 — you can always improve on time or weights which speaks to the competitive and passionate mindset that I have.
  • A controlled training plan because I suck at this and simply don’t know enough about fitness.
  • Mental change! My problem was that I needed to change my mindset and this is a sport where every session is a mental challenge and I could see over time how my thinking pattern got changed.

Like in business your first version is never the best and all you can do is to find out how to improve it and iterate all the time.

In a lean startup you would run experiment to then iterate and I have done the same in 2015 to really get an idea on what works best for me.

Now it’s time to up my game for year 2 so these are my new goal for my journey in 2016.

  • 3 times a week in a Box or 156 sessions in 2016
  • Change my diet with the target of losing weight (didn’t focus on this in 2015)
  • Lose 10kg in 2016 — don’t want to set a higher goal, current status 122kg.
  • Finish The “toughest” run oct. 1 2016 which means I need to include some running in my schedule.
  • Finish a Beginners CrossFit competition by the end of the year with a CrossFit buddy.
  • Blog about my journey min. 1 post a month or 12 posts in 2016.
  • Visit 20 boxes wherever in the world and I’m already two down, visited 2 in Tel Aviv. The review will be the first post after this one.

These “7” goals must be met within 2016 or I view this as a failure — they are my business KPIs :)
