After a few days of mixed reactions from the community, we are continuing the rebranding process. You can expect new releases of all our software soon. The team is as dedicated as ever, we’re here through thick and thin.

Our focus has always been, and still is, to deliver an easy to use cryptocurrency. We’ll be pushing forward with this vision with the mobile miner as well as add more technology to our blockchain.

More on the name

You guys deserve some more info on why the name was changed so quickly. Honestly, we had to. They provided us with all the legal documentation regarding the trademarked name ‘Stellite’ and we had no reason or intent to challenge it. The initial deadline from the lawyer was before today, 25 March 2019. We asked for an extension after assuring them we’ll comply with their request and they were kind enough to extend the deadline due to the distributed nature of the project.

About the team

We have some changes. noreithe, djeemienl and XTL_BCTF (aka stellite_question) left the team. There are no hard feelings between us and them, we’ve had differences of opinion and how to handle things for a while now. We’d like to thank them for their long-standing support, wish them all the best and hope to see them around in the future.

We’ll also be shutting down the foundation stellite_question was in charge of, it seemed like a great idea at the time, however, in reality it hasn’t been used. If we need something similar in the future, we’ll persue it again.

What you need to do

Your coins are safe. There is nothing for you to do in that regard. This is a simple rebrand and **not** a swap. We’re continuing with the current blockchain. Once we release the new software, you are free to update.

Like always we encourage you to keep your coins in your own wallet and not on exchanges.

In closing, we’re a lean team now and will continue pushing Torque to the next level.

See you guys around,
The Torque Team
