MUST LISTEN: The Magician — Together (Lucas & Steve Remix)

Over the past year, the Dutch duo of Lucas & Steve has really started making waves with their productions, having a number of standout original releases on Spinnin Records. Their real strength, however, has been their ability to bring their funky, percussive future house fusion to other artist’s material. Their smash hit remixes of Rockefeller’s “Do It 2 Night” and Felix Jaehn’s “Eagle Eyes” are perfect examples of this, and they’ve just released what might be their catchiest remix yet.

Lucas & Steve take a jaunty, pan flute-filled future house mega-hit and really capitalize on the passionate, delicate vocals in a way that the original slightly misses on. The percussive synths in the drop work hand in hand with the emotion and warmth of the vocals, each piece further enhancing the feel of the other; all this while never once losing the danceable groove that we’ve grown to expect from these two. We certainly look forward to seeing what these guys have in store for 2016, and it goes without saying that they’re off to a terrific start.
