Glaycera the White
Glaycera, the White Dragon, unfurled her wings and stretched; light and heat glinted from them. A color she hadn’t seen in ages. Green. Like polished ice crystals beneath the harsh sunlight, the green of the growing things around her reflected.
Where was her ice? Awakening from her ancient slumber, she shook, and the few shards of ice that still clung to her icy frame came cascading from her massive body, crashing onto the once-ice-covered tone floor of her lair, which was now covered over with a layer of mud. Immediately, her pale eyes widened in disbelief.
Her frozen kingdom had transformed. Dense emerald vegetation crept up mountainsides that once glittered with eternal frost. Flowers bloomed in obscene vibrancy, mocking her once austere homeland. Glaycera released a mournful roar, the sound echoing futilely through a warm, humid valley. She breathed deep and spewed forth her icy breath, concealing the green with ice. Immediately, it began to thaw and drip. Her home was gone.
Despair clawed at her heart, and hunger gnawed at her belly. Where the Great Sea once stretched endlessly, a lush expanse of great trees now stood. And many living creatures and bugs and birds. Her hunting grounds, rich with monstrous fish, had vanished. With grim determination, Glaycera rose skyward, leaving her ruined realm behind.
