I woke my head pounding, my vision blurry, thirsty, a bit sick to my stomach, and I stunk as if I had not showered in days.

As my vision cleared, I realized I was not looking at my ceiling, so I tried, through the pounding, to recall where I was and how I had gotten here.

What I realized not through clearing thought, but through the sense of movement, was that where I was, was a ship, and that ship was a moving space vessel!

This was very concerning because it wasn’t mine. That meant that I was moving further and further away from home, property, and safety.

I rolled over through my throbbing pain off the bed, stood up, and realized I was naked. Adrenaline kicked in and I began to feel better. Now for most folks, nudity, a splitting headache, and the realization that they had been kidnapped, would cause them to sit on the bed and cry. I decided that this meant, whoever it was that had shanghaied me, wanted me to walk around naked. I walked to the compartment door pushed the exit button and entered the hallway. I turned left because it felt as though the ship was heading that direction. You have to have years under your belt to be able to feel the movement of a vessel equipped with inertia dampeners. If you have ever been in a vessel without inertia dampeners you are either, from a barely out of the cave society, or you are like me, an Adventure Travel Guide from the Grand Taosan Galactic Empire, and experiencing all kinds of space travel is a regular part of your life.

I walked down the corridor and with every step my mind cleared, soon I was remembering. Last evening, well at least I think it was last evening I was leaving Lavender and Lucy’s club on Deep Space Colony System-5, with Ms. Briesta Provins. After that, all memory was gone until waking just now, here, on this ship. The problem is, that if this is Ms. Provins’ ship I should…
