A sneak peek of Totem’s new fruity new brand & revamped website

Totem’s mission is to take accounting off your todo list. This juxtaposition was the inspiration for Totem’s new look, the retro, multi-colored visual brand is designed to reflect this.

Fun, creative or eye-catching aren’t words that traditionally come to mind when thinking about financial accounting and planning. We asked ourselves and others, why not?

The main themes currently in the market place circled around accounting’s complexity, monotony, and time-consuming nature. So we’ve done a different route, with the intent of making our brand distinctive and memorable. Not everything in business needs to be blue.

Draw back the curtains.

We’re excited to unveil the massively re-designed and overhauled website leading up to the launch of the Polkadot Parachain Auction and Crowdloan.

Over the past few years, the main focus has been on building the Totem Live Protocol and Totem Live app. The branding, website and documentation was secondary and to be honest, it was embarrassingly out-of-date.

But, now with the tech in place (yes, we are actually a project that built first — with no VCs or ICO), the time has come to share with the community what Totem is and what we’re all about — from how Totem completely revolutionises accounting (it’s not just making it blockchain friendly, it’s breaking new ground with peer-to-peer postings) — to what Totem’s tokeneconomics are and how our native cryptocurrency is also the blockchain accounting engine’s own internal functional currency.

The newly released Totem website contains almost everything that we have built, why we are building it and what more we have to do. It’s a great place to checkout the new Totem brand as well as get information on the project, the team, job openings and, drum-roll please… our upcoming Polkadot Parachain Crowdloan.

We promised and now we have delivered.

At long last and after a huge effort from the dev Team, on the 4th March 2022, we will be launching Totem’s Parachain Candidate Network with a whole new network name: Kapex.

Back in April 2019 we launched the first Totem Network, Meccano, and that has served us well, but it also needs to be retired soon, to be replaced with the Parachain and then eventually the Mainnet. The last year has been spent migrating the entire Meccano chain to the Kapex Parachain, and updating all the code to match with the very latest updates from the Polkadot team. Now, the network has been tested and is ready to launch.

From this date onwards you will be able to take part in the Crowdloan, and our unique funding Pledge. There will be referral bonuses and other rewards so checkout our docs pages and be sure to sign up early!

Once Kapex is launched we will freeze the faucet on the Meccano network, so if you haven’t signed up for the free tokens which will be migrated to Kapex DO SO NOW!

Don’t forget to back up your identities in the getting started module, as they can be used in the Crowdloan Dapp.
