We are now less than one month away from the launch of our product! With a fully functional prototype in hand and a loyal community of early adopters and investors supporting us, we took the next step and embarked on a week-long roadshow across New York’s Blockchain Week.

The trip took us to some of the biggest conferences the industry has seen to-date. We were privileged to speak at demo days, attend major conferences, host media sessions, and meet with a vibrant community of partners, investors, and early users. Without further ado, here are some highlights from our trip to the NYC Blockchain Week:

I. Our Schedule

II. Product Demo at Consensus

Our Chief Product Officer, Jordan Lyall, gave a compelling product demo on stage Consensus in front of a packed crowd. Given the Enterprise and Wall Street-heavy crowd, Jordan made a point to focus his story on what the audience seemed to care most about and show just enough of the product that aligned most with their immediate problems. The tactic provide effective in giving the audience a more tangible view into Totle’s functionality and value proposition, which resulted in significant interest and one-on-one meetings with potential partners and investors after the presentation.

III. Press Coverage

Our CEO, David Bleznak was interviewed at the Ethereal Summit by Aaron Paul of Crypto101, an official media sponsor of the conference. Check it out on YouTube below or on Soundcloud (27:55)

IV. Community Engagement

After months of building our community through channels like Twitter, Telegram and Medium, we were honored to meet hundreds of supporters and community members in-person throughout the week in NYC. Nothing beats real facetime conversation with our core community of early adopters, partners, and investors that support our team, our concept, and very soon, our fully functional platform and network.

While we met with all of our stakeholders, it was the conversations with our users that was the most engaging — individuals who genuinely want to use our product and are invested in our success. It was incredibly useful for us to understand exactly why people use our platform, why they use certain features more than others, and precisely what opportunities we should focus on for the next iteration of our product. Here’s Team Totle with Erik Voorhees, CEO of Shapeshift.io and Loi Luu, CEO of Kyber Network:

V. Team Gathering on Roosevelt Island

The Totle team gathered at the gorgeous Cornell Tech campus on Roosevelt Island to shoot video interviews, product demos, and promos for the upcoming launch. Despite this being one of the few times that David Bleznak (CEO), Jordan Lyall (Product), Sergey Tsyba (Technology), and Alex Topchishvili (Marketing) all met in-person, good vibes and laughs were abound. Stay tuned for some exciting video content!

VI. Great Design Will Drive Mass Blockchain Adoption

The consensus among industry leaders was that the greatest missing link to widespread adoption of blockchain is poor UX/UI. Current crypto products bring out too many technicalities to the end user which hurts adoption and simplicity. Open source communities such as this one place too much power in the hands of developers, and not nearly enough in the hands of product managers. After all, did Steve Jobs expect people to understand how a processor works and what semiconductors used to make them? Usability, trust, and transparency will drive growth and adoption more than anything, which further validates our mission and focus.

Overall, the feedback and interactions during Blockchain Week in NYC was overwhelmingly positive, and for that we are thankful!
