The First Fiat to ERC-20 On-Ramp is Live!
Transak and Totle partner to offer direct fiat to token transactions with a simple integration.
At Ethereum Denver, the Totle team built the very first USD to any ERC-20 on-ramp with Wyre and Totle’s API called DeFiat. In one seamless transaction, USD users could swap directly for any popular ERC-20 token while getting the best pricing available on the decentralized exchange market with Totle’s smart-order-routing system. We were awarded a bounty from Kyber for our invention and received a lot of encouragement from the community. Next, we began polishing it for a public launch.
However, we didn’t achieve our original goal: a tool that would enable you to swap any fiat currency into any ERC-20 in one, seamless transaction. Today, we have made a huge step towards achieving that goal.
We’ve partnered with Transak, a fiat on-ramp aggregator that provides a simple interface to purchase cryptocurrency with fiat currency, to fulfill our vision for DeFiat.
Currently, Transak offers 20+ different countries direct access to crypto from a bank account with GBP, INR, and EUR. Transak is rapidly expanding their offering and will soon add popular currencies like USD, CAD, YEN, and much more. Eventually, cryptocurrency users will finally have a way to use any fiat currency to purchase cryptocurrency easily.
