The Heritage Corridor Ale Trail blog is a celebration of craft beer in North and Central Illinois.

The site, managed by the Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau, currently features 16 craft breweries from Bedford Park to Ottawa at HeritageCorridorAleTrail.com.

CVB Marketing Manager and Ale Trail blogger Dan Mulka explained,

“Craft beer is becoming more and more popular, and our region features some amazing concoctions. And, it’s our goal to make everyone aware and entice them come into cities like Joliet, Ottawa, Lemont and others to spend a night, a weekend, or longer with some of the best tastes in the world.”

The site features the latest news about new craft beers released by the different breweries.

“Some of the breweries are releasing one or two new beers, for a limited time, every week,” said Mulka. “And we’re continuously blogging about these flavors and where you can get them.

“There are a lot of stories to tell about these small business owners, and we’re also working on video interviews, behind-the-scenes content and other news about expansions — as a lot of breweries are growing and doing a lot of things right.”

The site is working to integrate ratings from UnTappd, a mobile application that highlights nearby popular bars and venues and what’s on tap.

HeritageCorridorAleTrail.com also highlights local restaurants and stores selling craft beer from its participating breweries, including Tangled Roots (The Lone Buffalo) in Ottawa.

Mulka concluded, “We’re working on many new features for the site, including providing information about nearby attractions and a new passport to encourage visits to our breweries throughout the calendar year. You might visit Joliet for a Slammers game and discover MyGrain Brewing, or you might want to stop by Tangled Roots on your way back from Starved Rock State Park. There is a lot to discover in the towns of the Illinois & Michigan Canal and Illinois’ Route 66.”
