Driving traffic to your website is the key to higher conversions and increased revenue. After all, if people are not visiting your business online, they will not be completing purchases and and you will not have any revenue.

The Net Marketshare portal reports that Google retains more than 73% of all global desktop search traffic share which means that more than 73% of all desktop visitors are coming to your website through this search engine. Therefore, every brand follows SEO principles to create a website that “Google will love” (😁).

1. Social media can be a powerful tool

Social networks (Facebook, Instagram,…) can greatly influence organic traffic and can be a great way to achieve new visitors. When you regularly publish social posts and create paid campaigns, you can effectively attract your target audience and direct them to your website. A user will show more interest in a brand name they are familiar with, over an unknown one. Make sure you’re posting on the social networks your demographic is active on — some quick market research will make this crystal clear.

Facebook Ads are still one of the cheapest forms of online advertising providing a strong return on investment, even though there is very high competition and ads campaigns are not as effective as in the past.

2. E-mail marketing works, too!

Sending newsletters to potential or actual customers can be a very effective way how to get new clients or increase the loyalty of current clients. You can promote your products, services and provide other company news directing your recipients to your website.

To maximize the benefits of email marketing, try also A/B testing, segmentation and personalization. These tactics will foster a more personal relationship between you and your customers and help you create more relevant content that will lead to higher open rate.

3. Blogging boosts quality

If you are thinking about having a blog on your website, you should know that it takes a lot of time but — on the other hand — it brings many benefits:

  • Increase brand awareness
  • Show your company as an expert in your industry
  • Improve your credibility
  • Expose your company to new potential customers
  • Increase SEO rankings

Start working with others. Find business and websites to partner with that share a target audience and/or industry and agree to collaborate on sharing articles (for example — on social networks).

4. Video usage is on the rise

According to HubSpot's State of Video Marketing report, there is a lot of positive statements about video marketing:

  • 81% of businesses use video as a marketing tool (up from 63%, the number reported in our 2017 survey).
  • 76% of marketers say it helped them increase traffic.
  • 80% of marketers say video has increased dwell time on their website.
  • 97% of marketers say video has helped increase user understanding of their product or service.

There are plenty of videos you can include in your marketing strategy: brand videos, videos that tell a story, short social media clips, product presentation video and much more. Regular webinars are also a very effective tool that will digitally engage customers and provide high value to consumers.
