At what internal meetings do we regularly meet?

One might think that agency life is always hectic and we have no time for internal meetings. But it’s not just about sitting in front of the computer screen all day or running between client meetings. Every week, several internal meetings take place which help our firm to grow and thrive as well as its members.

These are our regular meetings:

“Monday” Meeting

This meeting, bearing the label “Monday”, is actually regularly held on Thursday evenings(originally used to be on Monday :)), when everybody — and we mean literally everybody — come together in a big open office and discuss everything. Project managers briefly inform about interesting or finished projects and we also present final outputs. We are discussing operation and organizational matters connected to working in shared premises. We are also suggesting new teambuilding event ideas, celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and other holidays. Moreover, we celebrate our achievements and provide space for our team members and encourage them not to be afraid to speak their heart out.

“Knowledge share” Meeting

On Thursday morning, our programmers come together in front of the TV or projection screen and share their technical knowledge and know-how. One of the developers prepares a presentation on a predefined topic and after presenting it, there’s an open discussion and exchange of valuable ideas and experiences on the presented topic. For example, in their last meeting, they were talking about the accessibility for mobile and web apps, specifically how to adapt the application for handicapped people to make its usage more convenient and easy. Our developers often present their own ideas, something new they came up with, integrated or applied as a solution of one of the problems.

Meeting of bosses

Some of us are just waking up at 8am on a Monday morning, some are waiting in line for coffee or are stuck in a traffic jam. But what about our bosses? They’ve already finished their breakfast a long time ago and they are starting the week with a meeting, where they discuss all the important and necessary matters concerning planning, management, finance and much more.

Manager meetings

Almost every hectic Monday is followed by Tuesday and Wednesday, when it’s time for our project managers to hold their meetings in the afternoon. On Tuesday, individual projects are discussed– their progress, assignment of specific tasks and projects to people, communication with the clients, budget and more. On Wednesday, an organizational meeting takes place, where management of people and operational tasks are discussed.

Meeting of team leaders

Friday mornings are for the most fearless– our team leaders. Every week, they deal with the planning and job management in their team (Android, iOS, backend,…), so every task is effectively divided between the team members with the highest time management efficiency. While others are just getting out of bed, they are vigorously discussing and planning with coffee in hand.

Meeting of designers

Designer meetings are organized on weekly basis. They are talking about the current trends in UX/UI design, sharing their knowledge and experiences and discussing the direction of our company’s design. Our designers are also addressing problems they have encountered and try to resolve them together by searching for the most suitable solutions.

Meeting of backend developers

Every week, our backend developers have a sit-down together and deal with the planning of maintenance and improvement of our physical server infrastructureand services. This meeting is always held behind closed doors and only the ones involved know the planned strategy (:)).

Marketing meeting

Thursday is our creative day, when not only the “Monday” and Knowledge share” meeting is held, but also the marketing meeting. Marketing managers are presenting our strategy and its specific steps on social media and off as well. This is the meeting where we define and shape how we present and communicate ourselves to the outside world. We are discussing what we want to communicate and how we want people to recognize us.
