We are excited to announce a new initiative at Touchdown Ventures: Touchdown Ventures College. Touchdown Ventures College is a new internship program for undergraduate students who are interested in exploring a career in venture capital.

The program will start in January 2023 and last approximately 12 weeks. Touchdown will accept up to 10 undergraduate students into the program’s initial cohort.

This internship is a part-time, unpaid program. The program is designed so that students will be able to participate while still meeting the obligations of their current college or university as a student.

The Touchdown Ventures College internship program will have two components:

1. Education

Students will participate in weekly virtual Zoom classes led by Touchdown senior investment professionals. Our team has taught venture capital at Wharton, UCLA, USC, Berkeley, University of Michigan, and other schools.

The weekly Zoom classes will teach students about fundamentals and best practices of venture capital, including how to evaluate venture capital investment opportunities. We will cover topics such as VC fund strategy, deal sourcing, due diligence, term sheets, and portfolio management, among other topics.

Classes will be held once per week for one hour each.

2. Experience

Students will also have the ability to gain venture capital experience by working directly with investment professionals at Touchdown Ventures. Students will be assigned to conduct industry research, and to source and evaluate potential investment opportunities.

Each student will be paired with a senior investment professional at Touchdown who will provide mentorship to the student during the program. At the end of the program, each student will present a summary of their experience and learnings to the senior leadership team at Touchdown Ventures.

Practical experience to complete the internship is expected to require approximately five hours per week.
