Branding in education it’s represented by a strategic element called RECOMMENDATION. The key stakeholder of an educational institution it’s represented by parents. The main goal of the brand of an educational institution is to attract applicants — students/parents — children who best fit their mission and vision.

What should you take into consideration when you build the brand of an educational institutions (from kindergarten to college):
- Everyone has an opinion about your institution, and they’re not afraid to share it. It’s very important to listen to what is being said about you. This will help you know where you stand, where are you in the market. This is the very essential first step.
- Know and understand your competition. You should know from the very beginning that it’s not all about rankings. After this analyse determine what sets your educational institution apart. Comparing your organization with competitors will help you identify your strengths and weaknesses. They will reveal the key points of differentiation.
- Define what you want to stand for, what is you value proposition as institution. These elements will make your brand unique. They can be related to the curriculum, to the educational concept, ways of teaching, organisational culture or educational team. In the end it’s all about the experience you offer.
- Transparency. Be true to who you are, and deliver your brand promise. A brand is more than a logo, and it’s not just for marketing materials and websites. A brand is an aspiration for the entire community of your educational institution (children, students, parents, teachers, staff, collaborators, other educational institutions, local media, local social community).
- Storytelling it should be the strategic component of your brand development and growth. Create the key message, the story that will emphasize all the elements mentioned above.

In the end, it’s all about the impact that you bring into the society through the learning experience that you offer.
